What is Futsal
Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced small sided soccer game that is played across the world and is officially recognized by both FIFA and UEFA.
Futsal earned the status of FIFA’s official form of indoor soccer in the 1980s as it was recognized as a scaled down version of outdoor soccer played indoors. It is a 5 v 5 small-sided game played on a hard surfaced, basketball sized court with a smaller, low bounce ball. Futsal is played with touchline boundaries and without walls.
Futsal places a large emphasis on technical skill in high pressure situations which can be translated into the outdoor game. The sport is a great skill developer as it demands quick reflexes, fast thinking and pin-point passing.
Futsal is played in all the continents of the world by over 100 countries with 12 million players. Great soccer superstars such as Pele, Zico, Ronaldo, Messi, Kaka and Katia grew up playing the game and credit futsal with developing their skills.

Playing Up
Can a player play UP an age group?
Yes
ALL the parents understand that it will affect their kids playing time.
Playing down
Can a player play DOWN an age group?
Yes. Only two players are allowed to play down per team. Age group is determined by birth year.
We recognize that it's not typical, but we understand that siblings, cousins, and classmates often want to play together because they don’t have the opportunity to do so in club soccer. Additionally, we know that player development involves experiencing different challenges in the game. For this reason, we believe that playing against opponents who are older, faster, and stronger—even if they may not have as much technical skill—can be valuable. It helps players improve their decision-making, adapt to different playing styles, and face higher levels of competition, all of which contribute to their overall development.
Our league is meant to complement, not replace, the other activities players are already involved in. We’ve noticed an increase in private training sessions, where players often train with older athletes for similar reasons—exposure to different challenges to aid development. Our league follows the same concept, but here, players experience real game situations and scenarios, which provides practical, game-based learning in a team environment.

Cancelled games
Footy Tribe Game Cancellation Policy
Every effort is made to play all games during all seasons. The following situations may result in game cancellations:
- Wet and court field conditions, as determined by the league. This does not mean games are canceled simply because it is raining. We will be indoors
- Determination by an outside party (school district) that the fields are unusable.
- Very poor air quality in the area due to fires (AQMD index rating of Unhealthy).
- If games are cancelled they will not be made up unless it is the final game of the season
Footy Tribe does everything in its power to give teams the appropriate number of weekends.
Rescheduling
Can we reschedule games?
We understand that families have busy schedules and other commitments. Unfortunately, we cannot reschedule games to accommodate conflicts. However, we will make every effort to schedule games within a two-hour window for each age group, providing consistency and helping families plan around game times. For example, if your child is in the U7 age group, all their games will be scheduled at either 8:00 AM or 8:55 AM.
Please note that if a team misses one game or doesn't have min 5 players, they will forfeit.. If a team misses two games, they will be removed from the league and will not be eligible for a refund.

No Refund Policy
Please note that we have a strict No Refund Policy for all registrations and payments. Once a player is registered, we commit to reserving space, securing necessary resources, and organizing logistics for the season. Because of this, we are unable to offer refunds, even if a player is unable to participate after registration.
This policy applies to:
- Season registration fees

- Game pass fees
- Referee fees
We strongly encourage you to review your availability and commitment before completing registration. If you have any concerns or need assistance before signing up, please contact us for clarification.
